Brac is famous for two things, the first being its quarries which produce a white stone that was used to build the Diocletian’s Palace in Split and also the White House in Washington DC! The other is Zlatni Rat in Bol on the south coast of the island which is one of the most beautiful beaches in the Adriatic and is often used in posters promoting Croatia.Â
The town of Bol on the island is one of the most popular places to stay in Croatia holiday apartments and is an attractive place with the location of the best beach on the island, Zlatni Rat, popular with both swimmers and windsurfers. There is a long promenade in Bol between the old town and the beach and the town is well-equipped for holidaymakers with a large range of villas in Croatia. The other main town on the island is Supetar which is popular with families with its nice streets, main square and pebbly beaches. For a relaxing way to spend an afternoon, why not drive around the stone villages of the area whilst on holiday in villas in Croatia on the island.
During the summer, there are are lots of folk festivals and cultural events that take place in Brac including the procession celebrating St. Vid on Vidova Gora and Vanka Regule in Sutivan. Bez Regula means without rules and the festival includes extreme sports competitions. As well as plenty of Croatian cultural offerings, there is plenty of nightlife on Brac and often music concerts take place. If the weather is a little cloudy the Galerija Branislav Deskovic on the seafront at Bol is worth a visit as it has about 300 paintings and sculptures from modern Croatian artists. We have lots of great Dalmatia villas on the island of Brac, whether you are a beach lover, foodie or an adventure seeker, this is one of the best places for a holiday.
