This natural gem of a city is located in the middle of Durmitor National Park. Zabljak is 1465 metres high, which means that the city is the highest point in the Balkans. Durmitor is located between the river Tara in the north, the river Piva in the west and the river Komarnica in the south. To the east lies the plateau with the Sinjajevina (Sinjavina) mountains. As if Durmitor was not beautiful enough in itself, the mountain also has 18 glacial islands, which are formed by the melting glaciers. This makes Durmitor, if possible, even more beautiful. Here you can visit, among other things, the ski resort Savin Kuk, which lies about five kilometers from the city and has slopes that extend over 3.5 kilometers. If you are feeling extra adventurous, you can ask for the opportunity to try Debeli Namet - one of Europe's southernmost glaciers covered in snow even in July!
