Our NOVASOL Venice villas welcome you and your loved ones to one of Italy’s most popular tourist destinations! This city, located in north-eastern Italy, is the capital of the Veneto region. The city is placed on a group of 118 islands that are divided by canals, and linked together by over 400 impressive bridges. These islands are located in the Venetian Lagoon, a shallow bay enclosed between the mouths of the Po and Piave rivers.
Due to its strategic location, Venice was a major maritime and financial power during the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, and was an essential cornerstone of commerce from the 13th century to the 17th. This made Venice and incredibly wealthy city throughout most of its history, also explaining the complex and decadent architecture and planning of the city. Over the years the unique nature of this city has made it a popular destination for tourists to flock to, and with great reason! After a visit to one of our Veneto villas or our Venice villas, you will quickly understand why Venice is known as one of the most beautiful and romantic cities in Europe and the world.
Our Venice villas are ideally located to many of the city’s cultural attractions and sites. The first thing we’d recommend to visit while staying in our Venice villas is the St. Mark’s Basilica. St. Mark’s Basilica is easily the most famous building in Venice. Its creation began in 1092, and has stood the test of time to become one the most important religious buildings in Northern Italy. The ornate details, sculptures and artwork of the front façade, the painted frescos and works of art make the Basilica a can’t miss spot.Â
Next to the Basilica is Venice’s most famous piazza, St. Mark’s Square. The Square is located on the grand canal, opposite of San Giorgio Maggiore island. The place is a very impressive one to visit, surrounded by ornate buildings and arched walkways. Additionally, this Square is the perfect place to start your tour of the city.Â
Our Venice villas are also conveniently located near the Canale Grande. The canal is almost as big as a river, and passes from one side of the city to the other. Walking down the canal offers picturesque views of some of the most architecturally impressive buildings of the city.
Near the Canale Grande is Doges Palace, one of the most renowned buildings in Venice. With a stunning front façades and ornately decorated rooms, this palace is not to miss!Â
Finally, while staying in one of our NOVASOL Venice villas we highly recommend going on a gondola ride. Perhaps the most iconic attraction of Venice, you can hire gondoliers to give you and your loved ones and intimate tour of the city. With so many things to do and visit near our Venice villas, your holiday is bound to be unforgettable!
