On the first weekend of every month, the entire old town comes alive with the large national antiques market, and in June and September, the Saracino equestrian games take place in Piazza Grande. Other excursion destinations: The picturesque Etruscan town of Cortona (30 km), Monte San Savino and Lucignano (20-25 km); the Casentino Nature Park with its castles and forests; Poppi for golfing (40 km); Sansepolcro for a leisurely stroll (40 km); Montepulciano (60 km) for wine tasting. Siena with the most beautiful square in the world, the "Campo" (80 km), can be reached in less than an hour's drive. The owner will be happy to cook you typical Tuscan dishes by prior arrangement.
