This top renovated and listed thatched cottage called Deichkate Fahretoft is located in Dagebüll, the gateway to the North Frisian Islands. The location on the Westerschinkel dyke offers an unobstructed view of the wonderful North Frisian landscape. On the large property with its two terraces, you can relax and unwind in an original Sylt beach chair. In the evening you can enjoy a cosy barbecue on the upper terrace with the Weber gas barbecue, please bring your own gas bottle.
During the renovation of the interior, special attention was paid to preserving the original charm of the Frisian cottage. The "Klönschnacktür" door to the kitchen, the old roof beams and the elaborately restored room doors and furniture breathe history. A very special highlight of this house is the alcove in the living room. In the past, people found a little more warmth in this cupboard bed than in a free-standing bed. Today, a travelling child can feel completely safe there. The sleeping area is 150 x 150 cm. The alcove has no outside window, but a cosy inside window to the living room.
The wood-burning stove in the living room ensures that it is cosy even when the wind is blowing. Despite the historic character of the house, all modern conveniences have been added. The modern, high-quality kitchen with induction hob and the spacious bathroom with walk-in shower leave nothing to be desired. TV and internet are of course also available.
The keys are handed over at the NOVASOL service office in Dagebüll.
Dagebüll is the perfect place for excursions in the surrounding area: the ferries to the North Sea islands of Amrum and Föhr are just a few minutes' walk away. From the nearby harbour in Schlüttsiel (approx. 8 km) you can also reach the small Halligen islands of Hooge and Langeneß quickly and easily by boat. Dagebüll is also ideally located for a day trip to Sylt.
The many dykes all around offer a perfect area for cyclists.
