There are many places to visit in the area, including to the old Viking castle of Trelleborg, Slagelse with pedestrian area, cafes and shopping, or Stillinge beach, which is very lively in the summer. Slagelse is also home to one of Denmark's oldest barracks, so every Wednesday you can see the Hussar Guard riding through town. Cross the bridge over the Great Belt and visit some of the many beautiful castles on Funen like Egeskov, or take a trip to Legoland in Billund. For anglers, good fishing opportunities await along the coast. If you want to play golf, a golf course awaits you about 18 km from here. The small peninsula Reersø is also worth a visit. The whole landscape of the island is protected because of its rare animal and plant life, and it is a wonderful experience to walk or cycle the 9 km around the island. Also worth a visit are the gardens of Birkegården, a 10,000 m² adventure farm with animals and play park, and Kragerup Gods with many activities where you can whiz through the treetops, play soccer or canoe through the moats.
Note: The cottage has several steps and therefore not suitable for people with walking disabilities.
