The Apuan Alps (about 49 km) are suitable for climbing, but at Colonnata you can also savour the culinary delicacy Lardo di Colonnata (bacon). The Grotta del Vento cave promises an interesting adventure: here you can go 90 metres deep. Art lovers will love the cities of Lucca (20 km) and Pisa (30 km) with its famous Piazza dei Miracoli. Ferries depart from Viareggio to the Cinque Terre. The last 100 kilometres of the access road are unpaved.
