The villa belonged to Emanuele Montalcini, the uncle of Nobel Prize winner Rita Levi Montalcini, who spent much of her youth in this village. On the 10th anniversary of her death, the municipality of Ferrere wanted to honour the great scientist with a small steel monument in one of the village's characteristic locations.
