Welcome to this lighthouse keeper's house in a stormy and picturesque location at the gateway to the Arctic Ocean!
With an unobstructed view of the sea and the lighthouse on the edge of the property, this charming holiday home welcomes you with simple comfort. Feel at home here and enjoy the well-equipped holiday home in the evening with board games and socialising. You can also make plans for your upcoming holiday.
From the house and the grounds, you can watch the entire shipping industry go about its work under the midnight sun and during winter storms. It is also worth looking out of the window to observe the marine wildlife. Harbour porpoises and, somewhat more rarely, seals and killer whales sometimes appear in the fjord. For bird lovers, there is a rich bird life on site that makes ornithologists' hearts beat faster.
Experience the extensive grounds and the surrounding area. Because you are also living on historical ground here. Following the discovery of settlements from the Stone Age, the Tromsø Museum has placed two areas on this property under a preservation order, which testifies to the attractiveness of this location. You can also try your luck at fishing after just a few rowing strokes on the fjord. You may even be able to row back afterwards with lunch you have caught yourself.
In summer, a forest path starts directly from the property. As you hike south-eastwards through topologically ascending landscapes, you will cross the tree line. There you will find a flatter terrain that stretches through the mountain ranges and offers a marvellous view. The area is good for catching trout, sea trout, char and salmon (fishing licence required). Your little ones and teenagers will also get their money's worth here, because after a pleasant drive you can reach the Charlottenlund activity and nature sports area and, on the island of Tromsøya, the North Norwegian Knowledge Centre and the DarkLight laser game.
In winter, you can strap on your cross-country skis right by the house and explore the great trails on the very large property. On the other side of the road, you can start a longer cross-country skiing tour and head further into the beautiful, mountainous terrain. After a short drive, you can also discover Sami culture and try a reindeer sleigh ride at Tromsø Arctic Reindeer.
Look forward to a wonderful and varied holiday in this beautiful landscape!
Note: Bus connection from the airport and Hurtigruten to the property.
