Nearby Kastav is a place with a rich history, culture and tradition. The ruins of St Mary's Church, popularly known as Crekvina, stand as a historical and cultural monument in Kastav. The surrounding area offers many opportunities for an active holiday. There are numerous hiking trails and promenades, then cycle paths and another interesting way to explore the beautiful natural and historical heritage of the Kastav region is horse riding. The town of Matulji, also known as the gateway to the Opatija Riviera, is famous for its bell ringing tradition, which is on the UNESCO list of intangible heritage. In the local taverns you can try local specialities as well as jarbola, a wine with a specific taste made from the local grape variety. Visit the nearby Uka Nature Park. Lovers of active holidays can enjoy the extraordinary nature here, which is adorned with many protected and rare animal and plant species. From the top of Vojak you have a phenomenal panoramic view of the Kvarner islands, Istria and Rijeka.
